The Gas City Performing Arts Center stands as a premier entertainment venue designed to enrich the Gas City community and support the local school district. With an 1,800-seat performance hall, the facility provides a state-of-the-art space for concerts, theater productions, and community events—all while serving as a hub for cultural engagement in the region.
The Spencer Engineering team developed a dynamic heating and cooling solution capable of adapting to fluctuating occupancy levels—ensuring comfort, efficiency, and performance reliability regardless of audience size.
It is always a challenge to provide proper heating/cooling for an 1800 seat facility that will have different requirements based on the number of people attending the performance. Our team is always up for this type of challenge and created the proper solution to this concern for this facility.
There were also many different areas of use throughout the building that required different considerations from the performance area, lobby, office space, back of house which included green rooms for artists, storage and building facility rooms. Each area required different consideration for heating/cooling, power requirements and even plumbing.
This was the first project that KJG Architecture and Spencer Engineering worked on together which has now grown into a great working relationship.”
